Hi Andrew,
We have been home for over a week now and, generally speaking, we were extremely happy with the itinerary and the excellent service you gave us. We found the heat and humidity very trying but of course that is nothing to do with you. This made us better appreciate the coolness of Dalat and the Resort life at Hoi An.
Yes, I am happy to answer your questions and would summarise by saying that only one guide was a little poor, that is compared to the others, who were all excellent. And only one hotel was a disappointment, the others were top class. All airport pickups etc were also very professional.
1. What do you think of our guide service? Who impress you the best and who impress you the poorest?
We were generally very happy with the guides supplied to us. We thought that Tran Xuan Thao, who joined us in Dalat, lacked confidence and struggled a bit with his English - but he was still OK. It would be difficult to try and separate the other three for excellence.
2. What do you think of our driver service?
We found all the drivers supplied to us were first class, and they all drove under quite difficult conditions.
3. What do you think of the hotel service and their breakfast? Can you please name the best one and the poorest one in your trip?
Generally the hotels were fine except for the Yasaka Saigon Hotel in Nha Trang. This was our biggest disappointment, this hotel has a good position but it is run down and badly needs refurbishment. The amenities and service were also not up to standard - the only dining area for breakfast and lunch was outside and very hot. We thought it should only be a 2 star hotel compared to the others, which were all clearly 4 star. We thought the best 2 hotels were the Grand in Saigon and the Saigon Morin in Hue, although the Saigon Dalat and the Maison d'Hanoi were also very good. The breakfasts in the Yasaka and Saigon Dalat were a little disappointing for variety and presentation.
4. Which meal makes you memorable? Please name the reason why you like or dislike it?
It is hard to answer this question because we enjoyed many memorable meals throughout Vietnam. One comment was that when Lunch and Dinner were provided on the same day, a full 8-10 course for each meal was a bit too much food!
5. Would you mind sharing your pictures in the trip with us?
Our group are still sorting out their photos, when complete I will share some of them with you.
6. Would you like to be our reference by authorizing us to give out your email address?
This would be OK Andrew.
Many thanks again for your good work and I hope the above comments are helpful to you.
Kindest regards,
Bob Lanigan.
