Hi Yeliz,
1. What do you think of our guide service? Who impress you best and who impress you poorest?
Well that’s a tough question. Both our guides we so different. Mr Phu was extremely funny and gave the impression that he had done the tour many times and new the answers to all our questions. Mr. Hai is much younger and is very passionate about his area and had very good contacts and information to give. Unfortunately we only spent one day with him since he had another appointment the following day and his friend Lou took over. He was very young and maybe at the moment a little naïve.
2. What do you think of our driver service?
In both cases we were very happy with the driving standards and the courtesy shown by your drivers. In Hue we felt that a smaller vehicle might have been more comfortable but that’s a very minor point
3. What do you think of the hotel service and their breakfast? Can you please name the best one and the poorest one in your trip?
We enjoyed La Residence most and the Majestic least. One is a small intimate Hotel the other a large city centre Hotel so the comparison is unfair to make, however the room we got in the Majestic had views of the neighbours wall and whilst it didn’t spoil our stay it was not 1st class. Breakfast was very good in all three Hotels and we were happy with their service.
4. Which meal makes you memorable? Please name the reason why you like or dislike it?
Most memorable was the lunch Mr Hai arranged for us after the Cu Chi tunnel. This was a small Vietnamese restaurant where there were no tourists and the food and service were both excellent. We felt part of the scene rather than being a processed tourist. After the Mekong Delta trip we went to a restaurant where there were 100’s to thousands of tourists and whilst the food and service were good we definitely felt like thorough tourists being “processed”.
5. Would you mind sharing your pictures in the trip with us?
Yes I’ll give you a web site address later.
6. Would you like to be our reference by authorizing us to give out your email address?
Happy to do so
Besides, we welcome any other suggestions or comments from you. Thank you for your time.
I would like to share the following idea with you: Both Mr Phu and Mr Hai commented at various sites that they were incredibly crowded “ at this time of the day” and “in the afternoon there will be no one here”. Given that I would like to suggest that you might consider changing your agenda so that guests on small group tours can take the choice of crowded but cooler and un-crowded and hot. Certainly for us, places like the delta and the Cu Chi tunnels would have been a much better experience with fewer people. We found ourselves in both cases driving back to city’s with no further agenda when we could have relaxed in the morning then had lunch and gone to “tourist free” sites after lunch.
