Kalaw
Kalaw is earning a cool reputation among Myanmar holiday travellers, and it’s not just due to its chilly winter weather. Located at 1320m on the rolling, pine-clad hills of the Shan Plateau, this is Myanmar’s trekking heartland. Located to the west of beautiful Inle Lake, some travellers enjoy hiking between the two (about 45km), on mountains dotted with Palaung, Pa-O, Intha and Shan villages.

As rencently as the 1970s,there were American missionaries teaching in the local schools. Because of the British colonial and missionary heritage, many locals speak English. About 20,000 people live in and around Kalaw.
In your Kalaw tours, there are a few interesting temples to see in town. Perched on the hill overlooking the Thazi-Taunggyi road is Thein Taung Paya. In the town centre is a glittering stupa, covered in gold-coloured mosaics, called Aung Chang Tha Zedi. Nearby is the dilapidated Dhamma Yon, a two-story temple; it's not interesting in itself, but from upstairs you can get fair views of the town, the ruins of Hsu Taung Pye Paya. What's more, Christ the King Church might give you another feelings during your Kalaw tour.
IOT, the team of professional and devotional Myanmar tour operator, works all-heartedly to take you to find your favorite temple before the sunset!
