- Day - 1
- - Hanoi
In the morning, pick up at your hotel. City tour to famous tourist spots: President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his humble house on stilts, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (Viet Nam's first university). Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit to Museum of Ethnology featuring a fascinating collection of art and every object gathered from throughout Vietnam and its diverse tribal people. On the way back drop off at Quan Thanh Temple which was dedicated to Tran Vo (God of the North) during the Ly dynasty. Back to the hotel for a quick rest and then continue to take a cyclo tour around Hoan Kiem Lake,Ngoc Son Temple and the animated Old Quarter to view the most exciting part of Hanoi. Free time for shopping in Dong Xuan market. Overnight in Hanoi.
- Day - 2
- - Hanoi - Ninh Binh
After breakfast, you will have a full day excursion to Ninh Binh province (93 km south of Hanoi).
You will visit Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam during the Dinh (968 – 980) & early Le (980 – 1009) dynasties. The ancient citadel of Hoa Lu covered an area of about 3km2. The outer ramparts encompassed temples, shrines and the king's palace. The royal family lived in the inner citadel. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will transfer to Tam Coc, known to travelers as "Halong Bay on the rice paddies". The boat trip to all three caves (Hang Ca is 127m long, Hang Giua is 70m long, and Hang Cuoi is only 40m) takes about two hours. This is a very peaceful and scenic trip. Return to Hanoi in late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.
- Day - 3
- - Hanoi - Bac Ninh
After breakfast, you will depart for Bac Ninh province, 25km from Ha Noi to visit But Thap pagoda and Dong Ho village, known for its folk printings drawn by local craftsmen. These paintings are made from "giay do" paper and painted with traditional designs. Continue to visit Phat Tich, one of the most ancient pagodas. Its architecture and interior decoration shows talent of Vietnamese artisans. Lunch in Bac Ninh.
In the afternoon, return to Bat Trang ceramic village where you can see artisans mass-produce ceramic vases and other pieces in their kilns. Enjoy your time for shopping for favourite pottery products. Back to Hanoi in late afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.
- Day - 4
- - Hanoi - Ha Tay - Hanoi
After breakfast, start your morning tour to well-known pagodas in Ha Tay, 30km southwest of Hanoi. Visit Tay Phuong Pagoda which consists of 3 single-level structures built in descending order, on a hillock said to resemble a buffalo. The pagoda's most celebrated feature is the figures representing "the conditions of man" carved from jackfruit wood and dated from 18th century. Continue to visit Thay Pagoda, 20 minutes apart from Tay Phuong Pagoda by road. Follow the path around the outside of the main pagoda building, and take a steep 10-minute climb up to a beautiful smaller pagoda perched high on the rock. Return to Hanoi in late afternoon. Back to Hanoi.
In the afternoon, free time for shopping at the downtown or depart for your on going flight. End of the tour.
