Chiang Rai Your flight takes you into Chiang Rai from elsewhere while IOT's (short for Indochina Odyssey Tours) private Thailand tour guide has been already waiting for you at the airport. Sawadika(Hello) states our warmest welcome for your Thailand tours! A string of fragrant garland might remove your fatigue away! Check in upon arrival. Have the rest of your day a free exploration in the city.

Morning breakfast at hotel.Then IOT's private guide take you to the Golden Triangle where is Thai - Myanmar-Laos sharing border.You can see the Lan Tue Bhudda Image and the Royal flag (Tung) at the golden triangle. Then visit "Chiang Saen",the first capital of northern Thailand. This is where the Ruak and Mekong Rivers meet.  The riverside road is lined with souvenir stalls. The small Opium Museum is in the center of the road. Have lunch at a nice restaurant. (This tour includes: speed boat trips which take you up-river a short distance, then down to Chiang Saen, with a stop at a Lao souvenir village on the way.)
In the afternoon,continue to Mae Sai.

Mae Sai - Chiang Rai

Morning breakfast at hotel. Visit Mae Sai,the most northern district (Amphoe) in Chiang Rai Province. It is a major border crossing between Thailand and Myanmar. There are plenty of small shops lining both sides of the street leading to the border, winding up a pleasant walk for your Thailand holiday.
Visit Doi Mae Salong where you can appreciate many flowers in the winter, see the living of General Tuan's descendant and the Tomb of General Tuan. He is the great warlord of Chinese 93 rd Division that emigrated from China. You can taste good tea and buy local products such as tealeaves, vegetables, fruits, etc. 12.00 Lunch at restaurant.
Afternoon visit Doi Tung noted as "Switzerland of Thailand" for its romantic tinge. Afterwards, we will continue to visit Thaton Temple before we drive back to Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai Leave Chiang Rai for Chiang Mai in the morning after breakfast, we will arrive just in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, IOT's private guide will take you to visit the Doi Suthep Temple, where is one of the most sacred temples in Chiangmai - Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, located on hilltop in Northern-Thai style and containing holy relic of Lord Buddha and enjoy seeing panoramic view of the whole city. After that, the guide will take you to explore the old city temples. Within the walls of the old city, this tour takes you through the most historical parts of Chiang Mai. Starting at Wat Chiang Man,the oldest wat in the city. A few miles away, is the Anusawari Sam Kasat on the left. You may see residents leaving offerings at the bronze statues of these famous Lanna Kings. If your feet are aching, IOT's pravite guide will provide you a very special spa in the Chiang Mai Women's Prison. Inside, inmates offer very good massage, the earnings of which are saved for when they're released. When your massage is finished, continue to explore the Wat Phra Singh, one of the most impressive temples in Chiang Mai and home to the city's most revered Buddha image. 
In the evening, you can try the local food at a local restaurant and enjoy local performance .
