Food & Drinks

Vietnam is for foodies, some claim. Is it true?

But no matter where in Vietnam, one key ingredient– nuoc mam, the fish sauce, is never missing. It is used in a similar way to soy sauce in Chinese cooking. Along with herbs such as lemongrass, mint, coriander and other stuff, nuoc mam pumps wildly like a party in your mouth.

Noodles never leave the tables. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even in-between as a snack to keep them going! Each area has its own special type of noodles and every ethnic claims their own one to be the best. Maybe only you can tell in your Vietnam travel.

North Vietnam tour is considered to be going into the cradle of the Vietnamese culture and the preserver of the traditions. And it is from here that many of the classic Vietnamese dishes derive. Pho (rice noodles), banh cuon (rolled cake) and other famous Vietnamese food can find their roots here. Perhaps the most famous Vietnamese dish, Pho originated here. Food here is less spicy, but can certainly spice up your Vietnam tours!

Southern Vietnam's cuisine has been more influenced by the outside. Thanks to the richness of the Mekong Delta, food here is a little sweeter in taste and richer in ingredients. Taking-ins from French, Indian, Cambodian and Thailand food make the southern cuisine a piece candy for both your eyes and mouth in your southern Vietnam tours.

Central Vietnam has a distinct cuisine. Being the Vietnamese Emperors' region brings more fun to the dining table. Instead of one or two dishes being served for a meal, a number of small dishes will be offered. This dining style doesn't change much nowadays, and eating like a king or queen is absolutely something new for your Vietnam tours!

Vietnamese Spring Rolls give you some unique taste of pork, shrimp, herbs, rice vermicelli, and other ingredients mixing up together. Banh Chung, a special cake for the New Year, is made from glutinous rice, pork meat, and green beans wrapped in bamboo leaves. It tastes incredible served with pickles.

Drinks in Vietnam are amazing too. Leave alone those soft drinks you can find anywhere in the world, coconut-based beverages are something you mustn't miss! And you can't wait to tell your pals how great is the Vietnamese yogurt after just one sip. Your Vietnam travel can be as juicy as a peach once you soak in its drinks.

Don't even bother to ask what to eat during your Vietnam tours, just ask which to begin with!
