Du Hang Pagoda

This pagoda was founded 3 centuries ago, and rebuilt several times since, but it still remains a fine example of traditional Vietnamese architecture and sculpture. The beautifully built Chinese-style garden contains a multitude of little inner courtyards. Along with bustling Haiphong street life, the monks in the pagoda manage to live a peaceful life and they've dealt plenty of families who come to discuss their problems at the two meeting-houses, although these robe-dressed saints seem a little callous to visitors.Inside the pagoda are several statues that are intricately engraved in the style of the Nguyen Dynasty. Valuable relics, such as bronze tripods and gongs, are also kept in the pagoda.
