We were 3 couples who were old friends and all well traveled. Odessey exceeded our expectations in all aspects of the adventure. The guides:Joe in Cambodia, Silatda in Laos, Nam in Hanoi and Sapa, and Dinh in Hue, Hoi An and DaNang were all excellent in all respects, including very good English, very professional, friendly, very knowledgeable, accommodating of needs and requests, timely and generally took wonderful care of us. An example was Dinh meeting the ladies at the airport with flowers for International Women's Day and procuring a Birthday cake for one of our travelers. We loved everything, but particular treats were Ankor Wat and surroundings, Lang Prabang and the Hill Tribe Village overnight, Sapa, Halong Bay in the luxury ship and Hoi An. The drivers got us around safely which is no small task. the hotels were all 5 star, with outstanding service, beauty and breakfasts and a welcome repast to which we returned in the evenings.

In October 2014, my husband and I went for a 50th high school reunion in HK and Thailand. Because of the 15 hours flight time from Canada, we decided to make the most of it and do a ten days side trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. On my friend's recommendation, we contacted Indochina Odyssey Tours. Our IOT contact was Kelly, who was most helpful in arranging our trip. We were a group of ten, and we have now decided to call our trip Awesome Trip # 1. Planning to visit Australia and New Zealand next year for Awesome # 2.
We really had a fantastic ten days, and can highly recommend the 3 tour guides we had along the way - Thao, (Hanoi), Thuy/Pony (HoChinMinh) and Savy in Cambodia. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful.
Moments to remember -
1. Hanoi's 1 million motorcycles all coming at you at one speed - fast.
2. Beautiful Halong Bay
3. HoChiMinh Tiger Cages
4. HCM Park where so many people were exercising at 7a.m.- especially, a group of women dressed in Halloween masks and costumes dancing to the Ghostbusters song. Amazing..as we did not expect to see this in Vietnam.
4. Temples of Cambodia. -Think of Raiders and Lara Croft movies!
Really had a great time. My only recommendation to all travellers of this kind of tours.- Do it when you are fit and able to walk a lot.

I used Indochina Odyssey Tours (IOT) to knit together two tours I arranged from different providers. My wife and I booked a cruise down the Mekong River starting at Siem Reap with Road Scholar (It happened to be half price.) and a sea kayak tour with Paddle Asia in Phang Nga Bay east of Phuket. In addition to these two tours we wanted to go up to Chaing Mai to an elephant farm, tour some sights around Bangkok, and go west to see the Kwai River of ridge over the River Kwai??fame. We called Kelly with IOT and she worked out all the hotels, guides, drivers, airline schedules and other attractions. We spent 28 days in S.E. Asia and had a terrific trip. Kelly booked us into some smaller resorts/hotels that had outstanding service and were reasonably priced. She provided a couple of guides that we just loved. Everything came off like clockwork. Both my wife and I came down with a mild intestinal bug, and Kelly called us to see how we were doing. When you book with IOT you have someone who is really concerned with your welfare. I recommend them to everyone who will listen!
Note I have used them for two other tours in prior years.

Odyssey arranged our stay in Hanoi at the sofitel metropole and it was fabulous. Duc gave us a city tour and let us weigh in on where we wanted to go. The water puppet show was interesting. He knew his city well and did a great job of showing it to us. Highly recommend him and Odyssey.

Odyssey arranged our stay at Luang say residence and it was fabulous. The trip up the Mekong delta to Pak oui caves was very interesting with a lovely lunch on the river. Walk up Phousi mountain at sunset worthwhile. And the morning alms with the monks very interesting. Excellent tour

My husband and I planned a tour of Vietnam and Siem Reap, Cambodia with Indochina Odyssey Tours - put together by Kelly. Our holiday went without a hitch. We had 4 different tour guides over the course of two weeks - Trang in Hanoi, Quyen in Hoi An, Tiger in Ho Chi Minh City and Savy in Siem Reap. At each destination we were met at the airport. Our hotels were all centrally located and really comfortable. Our guides, without exception were professional, helpful and great fun. We would thoroughly recommend this tour company for organising a fantastic tour of Sth East Asia.

We just returned from a 14 day trip starting in Hanoi, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Siem Reap, Ho Chi Minh, and Can Tho floating market. It was one of the best organized tours we have had. Our tour guides and drivers were so pleasant and accommodating. Our driver in Siem Reap , Mr. Ya always had ice cold towels and cold water waiting when we returned to the car. I blessing when it is 95" outside. The guide, Mr. T, was a delight to be with for the 3 days we were there. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Cambodia and the temples. He took great care to be sure we were comfortable and tried to avoid the crowds as best as possible. Be sure to request him if you go to Siem Reap.
Every lunch was pre-planned for us which was great because we would have not been able to select all the different foods they served. Our IOT rep was Kelly Lu and she was also most accommodating. I will definitely recommend IOT to all our friends.

We were a little hesitant to book a tour company to plan our trip, as we're not generally tour company kinds of travellers, but with limited time and no language skills in our destinations, we tested the waters with a few cautious contacts to IOT, and within a few emails with the glorious Kelly Lu, we were convinced that this would be a wise move.
It proved to be an absolute joy. Kelly was knowledgable, professional and courteous throughout the process, and kept us fully informed. We were able to remain in control of our itinerary, with Kelly ironing out the logistics at every step.
From the first time we saw our name being held by the fabulous Mr Pony in Saigon, we felt delighted that we had an advocate for our experience. At every venue we discovered more than we could ever have hoped to on our own, and with all the logistics being smoothed out, we were at liberty to put our concentration to fully absorbing every treasure the trip offered us.
We came to regard our guides as family and teachers, each one of them sharing their homelands with passion and generosity.
Because we had personal guides throughout our trip we had complete flexibility without feeling organised or "processed." We had plenty of time to ourselves and never felt rushed. Several times throughout the holiday IOT contacted us to make sure that all was going to plan.
If you may have any hesitation about engaging IOT to help you organise your next expedition, I would strongly encourage you to dispel them completely. You can stay in control of your experience but gain the full benefit of local knowledge and experience.
I'd like to thank Kelly, Pony, Borey, Phally and Quan for the most wonderful holiday. I will be coming back to the Odyssey Group for future bookings to Thailand, India, China and Bhutan.

This was the 2nd time we've used IOT, this trip was 2 weeks in China. Everything was again amazing, from our initial planning with the fabulous Kelly Lu, to every local guide & hotel throughout China. Leo in Beijing, phoebe in Xian, Portia in Shanghai & phoebe in Chengdu - all so helpful, informative, happy, gracious & professional. We saw all the main sights, but the best part was the local out of the way stops & restaurants. Our Yangtze River cruise was fabulous, we were the only westerners on board & felt like VIPs. We are already talking about where to go next with IOT! Our Vietnam & Cambodia trip in March 2013 convinced me to use IOT again, it's a private tour with flexibility & great local guides, excellent service all round.
