My husband and I had an amazing trip using Indochina Odyssey Tours In November. From the planning process to the arrival and final destination, the service could not be faulted. We had an exceptional guide with us in Hanoi, Sapa and Halong Bay. His professionalisn and friendliness made our trip very special and one that we will never forget. We absolutely loved Laos, but unfortunately the guide didn't compare to our guide in Northern Vietnam. IOTs guide in Ho Chi Minh city was wonderful also. We had a great adventure so thanks again IOT. Visited November 2013

This company helped us design a truly perfect month in Vietnam. We identified cities/areas we were interested in; they suggested others and reasons. We jointly decided how long in each place. They found terrific hotels, restaurants, drivers and English speaking guides who knew so much about every place we went, including temples, parks, caves, museums. We used boats of all types on little and big rivers. Went fishing, swimming, hiking, biking and more. I can't say enough good about this company. Everything was perfect, not one logistical misstep. Guides helped with medical needs, e.g place for blood tests, translated where we needed it. If I hadn't already traveled in the other countries they support, I'd be planning another trip with them pronto. I can recommend them without reservation, something I can't do with any other tour company we've used, and there are many good ones. the trip was very reasonably priced and we were in 4 star hotels and ate wonderfully. Odyssey facilitated our first trip to Asia. Not only were their suggestions dead on, but the guide they provided was the best guide we have ever had! We have found that private guides are the best way to get the most out of each country we visit. The hotel that was suggested to us, was the Metropole as we asked for 5 star. They not only suggested the best hotel for us, but encouraged us to book the historic wing which made all the difference in the world. Our adult daughter traveled with us and at the last minute wanted a day tour to Halong Bay, and by the next morning, Odyssey's guide, had the boat and transportation ready and off to Halong Bay they went. Truly, an exceptional experience for her. I suggest one day tour to Halong Bay, instead of the Junk boats as we heard from fellow travelers that you can have poor experiences. My husband and I are older, so went to tailors while our daughter went to Halong Bay and back in the same day and was beyond thrilled with the whole experience!! If you do a private or semi-private tour, you can bypass all the stops that the regular guides do for buying trinkets. That way, you go right to Halong and have more time for kayaking and cave touring.Visited February 2014

My wife and I have just returned from an amazing 28 days touring around Vietnam, all organised through Indochina Odyssey Tours (IOT) We had tried to book this vacation through a couple of UK online tour operators, but was getting nowhere, if you wanted to stay all of your time in one location they where fine, but we wanted to see as much of Vietnam as we could in 28 days (length of Visa) By chance we were looking on Tripadvisor and came across IOT, never heard of them before, based in China, but had amazing reviews, so thought we would give them a try. This was the best thing we could have done.We gave them a rough idea of what we wanted to do, and within days we had a 28 day schedule, to chop and change as we wished, it took is a few weeks to tweak it to our exact requirements, we must have made 20/30 changes from the original proposal, but what made us feel we had selected the right tour company, was that we never felt any number of changes to our itinerary was a problem to IOT.We booked our own return flights to Saigon, and IOT picked it up from there, we travelled to Cat Tein National Park (great birdwatching location) Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, and finished up with 6 nights chilling out on the beach on Phu Quoc Island.

The Hotels that IOT picked were great, very high standard, we did change the odd one, where we found a better Tripadvisor review in a certain location, but nothing was to much trouble. We never once had a driver not turn up at the correct time during our travels, the guides we had were great spoken excellent English, and all the different drivers we used were very good, we always felt safe on the busy Vietnamese roads, and visiting all the popular attractions on our travels we had a private car, which was great.

We had quite a few days where we preferred to do our own thing, around Saigon, Hanoi, and on the beach locations, but this was all pre planned before we left home.Looking at Tripadvisor reviews on IOT, you can see how good they are at providing excellent tours not just in Vietnam, and we can only say the same an excellent tour company that goes that extra mile to make your holiday really memorable. You can book with confidence with IOT, a great Tour Company.

My sister and I travel a lot on our own and love the flexibility of going at our own pace... so rarely, we book tours. We were planning to go to South East Asia for 2 weeks and had limited time to cover all the territory we wanted to. So, the best compromise was a private tour for the 2 of us. I did research here in Trip Advisor and a few other places and ended up working in IOT (Wanda is super agent... all they advertise about responding within 24 hours and catering to you and following up is absolutely and positively true!).

We booked a 14 day private tour of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. We absolutely loved the trip and thought IOT and its personnel were fantastic!. My favorite places were Thailand and Laos. I expected Thailand, especially northern Thailand, (Ayutthaya, Sukhothai (a must see not visited as often as Ayutthaya) and Chiang Mai to be what they were. Great places.

Laos was absolutely the jewel of the trip. Luang Prabang is just awesome!. We ended up staying at the 3-Nagas hotel (this was something we worked with IOT since this was a place we really wanted to stay at and had our heart set on it). If you have a chance, stay there. The 3-nagas is beautiful and it is right in the center of Luang Prabang so you can explore on your own all the wonderful sites and check out some of the culinary school restaurants. The food in Laos is amazing. My sister and I seem to liked better than Thai food and I love Thai food.

Our tour guide Phan was very knowledgeable, courteous, willing to go the extra mile, etc. The driver was good as well. The first day, we arrived late afternoon so they picked us off at the airport and dropped us up at the hotel making sure that we were set. Since we had the rest of the day to ourselves, Phan gave us pointers as to what to do that evening, etc (The night market, other parts of town, etc). Next morning, we got up at 5:45 am, rolled out of our bed and stepped outside to see the alms ceremony (beautiful)... after that we were picked up to start out day tour that covered Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, a cruise upstream on the Mekong River were we also explored the Pak Ou Caves and a few villages. Later we walked around town and ended up having dinner at one of the restaurants in the many culinary schools. Phan was fantastic!!!... thank you for an unforgettable experience.

IOT guides and drivers are fantastic. On time, knowledgeable, courteous and very much focus in making one experience great. So are its agents. Wanda not only worked with me to set up this trip,.. was flexible to let me make multiple adjustments to accommodate the things and places I wanted to stay at. She contacted us twice during the trip to make sure that we were satisfied. Nice job IOT. I would certainly work with you guys again and tell my friend too!
