We just returned from a 15 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia that was arranged by Indochina Odyssey Tours (IOT). This was the first private tour that my wife and I have ever been on and let me say IOT handled every aspect of the tour in a professional manner. I have to say I was a little apprehensive about doing everything through email from someone that was half away around the world, but my fears were quickly put to rest. My first contact with IOT was with Allison Chiang and she was outstanding. She had to put up with my constant changing of the itinerary, but she got everything arranged without any problems. She checked up on us while we were on the tour making sure that everything was going well, thank you Allison. The itinerary was exactly as published which included 4 flights and 7 hotels and not to mention all the meals. Everything went so smooth with the help of all the guides and drivers along the way. Our first stop was Phnom Penh, what a busy city, and our guide was Ms. Sopheak. She was so helpful and her knowledge of the city and surrounding areas made it a great stop. Up next was Siem Reap and Mr. Joe Top was our guide he took us all around Angkor. While at Angkor he made sure that we made it to all the important photo spots. He and the driver never let us go anywhere without water. Stop number 3 was Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and the most interesting guide of all Ms. Tran. She was extremely knowledgeable about the city and surrounding area and her English was excellent. We really learned a lot about everyday life in Vietnam thanks again Ms. Tran. You really prepared us for our time in Vietnam. Stop number 4 was Hue and Hoi An and our guide Ms. Dinh Thi Lien. She was very patient with us, which was the perfect thing after living out of suit cases for the past 4 weeks. When we asked to change the tour she suggested that we go to the My Son Sanctuary and what a great suggestion. This is exactly what we wanted to see, thank you Ms. Lien. The resort that we stayed in Hoi An was outstanding, right on the beach with awesome sunsets. Stop number 5 Hanoi and our guide was Mr. Hai. He was very accommodating, especially when we wanted to change our itinerary during the city tour. He made sure we saw what we wanted to see and provided excellent commentary. Thanks to all the drivers for getting us from point A to point B safely and on time no matter what the conditions were like. We really felt like the motto, “You are not alone with Odyssey.”

We have just returned from our 15 day tour to Vietnam and Cambodia which was organised by Indochina Odyssey Tours (IOT) and could not fault them in any way from the very 1st contact via email to the end of our trip. Guides and drivers always on time and seemed to appear out of nowhere when they were waiting for you to finish whatever you had set off to do, perfect manners always a smile, cold water waiting for you back at the car, nothing seemed to be any trouble for them. Everything was organised from your arrival, checking in to a hotel and getting you back to the airport on time, every stage of our tour was handled expertly by our guide. Out of the 12 organised lunches only 2 disappointed, 3 dinners and they were all great meals, all hotels were of excellent standard, only one disappointed and that was due to housekeeping standards only, some just a little better than others. We were shown places to shop and told places not to go in, definitely no pressure at any time to make a purchase, taken to the best spots for photos and the guides were always ready to take your photo. I feel that we saw a great deal more by doing it this way and was pleased when I discovered IOT organised tours starting at 2 people and we didn't have to join a large group. A big thank you to Agnes who liaised with us to make this a perfect trip and organising a surprise for my husband's birthday and to Queyn in Hanoi, Thu in Hoi An and Hue, Thue in HCM and Khamrint in Siem Reap, our guides, you made our holiday very special and to all the drivers a big thank you for getting us home safely, excellent work everyone. Would we use them again in a heartbeat, would we recommend them ??have already done so.

Our family of 3 including a 5yo boy did a 2 and half week tour of Vietnam and Siem Reap in August 2014 for my 50th birthday. I first compared 2 tour companies which both had 'excellent' reviews. What sold me on IOT was they had chosen the Essence Hanoi Hotel for our Hanoi component, yes one hotel can make a big difference. The Essence was rated at No.2 in Tripadvisor (yes we agree, see my review). I enquired about hotel choice with the other company but wasn't satisfied with their response so it was IOT! Shifting time and budget resulted in many initial emails about 1-2 and 2-3 day options. Echo suggested a private tour for our demographic rather than larger tour. A bit more $ perhaps, but the flexibility it provided was good. She was very quick, patient and informative and put together Hanoi (3 nights but not consecutive), overnight boat on Halong Bay, 3d/2n to Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall, Hue and Hoi An and then 3n in Siem Reap with flights. Sapa was no good due to injuries and 5yo kid so our choice to go north was excellent!!! At one point we had been swapped to the Elegance Ruby Hanoi (disappointment for us) but it was best intentions due to the larger rooms. Our request to rebook Essence upgrading to a Junior Suite was met promptly. IOT choice of guides based on 'guide with kids, sense of humour and knowledge' was excellent ...thanks very much to Chieu (north Vietnam), Quen/Freddie (Hue/Hoi An) and Savy in Siem Reap and the drivers for keeping 'king' Jordan entertained! A few parts of the tour were shuffled to make better use of time and gave us some more free time. Only 2 minor attractions from the itinerary were missed. However, the 'if time permits' part of the floating fishing village on Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia was an absolute highlight for me. So was the birthday cake from our guide Savy for my 50th birthday. The guides and drivers ensured we had bottles of water all the time, many thanks in the August heat. Overall, an unforgettable holiday thanks to IOT!!!!

With little experience booking tours online was skeptical but decided to lodge enquiry which was answered promptly by Ms. Foring. Nothing was too much bother and in no time our itinerary was customed to suit. From start to finish we were not disappointed - our first full day we visited Buddha Park, Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge before lunch and stroll around City sites. Our guide introduced us to Khop Chai Deu an awesome eating experience which we visited again! After a free day to explore Vientiane the amazing Mr Ded arrived for overland trip to Vang Vieng. The scenery on route was sensational and driver a real star! After booking in headed to enjoy tubing along Song River included in tour - an experience not to miss ☺and later enjoyed relaxed meal in town. Following day overland to Luang Prabang visiting Tham Jang Caves on route. The service received from both guides and drivers was first class, accommodation at Salana Boutique and Riverside Resort outstanding and great spots included for lunches along the way. Although our trip finished on arrival in Luang Prabang Mr Ded went extra mile and took us up Wat Phousi to enjoy the stunning views. We would 100% recommend this company to everyone - wonderful friendly caring people who all played a part in making our trip to Laos very special, Ms Foring your tip to dine at Tamarind - excellent! Thanks to all!

Eric from Indochina Odyssey Tours arranged our recent holiday in Vietnam, and Tuoi was our guide for the HCMC sector. Eric was very responsive to our requests, and always returned iterations of our itinerary quickly and accurately. He put together a great program. Tuoi was a very attentive, knowledgeable and caring guide whose company we enjoyed. Our driver was very competent and we felt safe in the organised chaos that is Vietnamest traffic. We did all the "must sees" around HCMC. Would happily choose IOT again for another holiday in this part of the world.
