We booked a private guide to show us the highlights of Hanoi this week. Odyssey provided us with Mr Thong, who gave us excellent service. He was knowledgeable of history of the city, was flexible regarding the schedule for the day, went at a perfect pace for our family and even helped my husband hunt down a particular souvenir that he really wanted to find. Odyssey were really professional during the booking process and I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking to hire a guide to show them this wonderful city.

Allison Chiang is totally superb. She is so helpful and positive, getting everything organised and coming up with great, creative ideas for our family holiday. I love her positive, 'can do' attitude. Outstanding service. Thanks.

Had a great trip courtesy of Odyssey Tours and Allison Chiang, our Guide 'Mr Dominic' known as Nick was fantastic, really knowledgeable, good fun and good company, this is what we wanted. It was a pleasure to be shown the sites with Nick and he even went the extra mile one night to come out and take us on a boat trip that was not on the planned holiday, it was his night off as well, what a guy :). Oh, and the driver was really nice as well, very polite and always smiling. One of the highlights was the 'Mekong Delta' and we had a lovely guide called 'You' who filled in as Nick had a family commitment, she was wonderful, funny and wow what a day we had, our trip was a off the beaten track and hardly saw another tourist. Can't recommend Odyssey highly enough.

Our tour planner Allison was outstanding, and our guide in Hoi An was Mr. Nguyen. Good fun and knowledgeable.
My wife and I spent 2 full days in this lovely, quaint spot, and it wasn't enough, but it was all we could squeeze in on our 22 days in S E Asia.
Hoi An is a wonderful mix of history and liesure with it's trade involvement and fishing towns, and its modern seaside resorts. Highly recommend the Boutique Hoi An Resort for either short or longer term stays - beautiful beach and huge pool and grounds.
The old district is alive with eateries, small shops, and people.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Red Bridge Cooking School, and the excursion to a local Fisherman's village - a little touristy, but great. The small round woven boats are unique and quite amazing.

Right from the beginning these guys were amazing.. From my Web request I got a personal and very detailed email back giving me ideas of what was achievable within my travel time frame. Alison then booked exactly what I asked for... The hotels she choose were 4star and very good. My guide and driver were exceptional.. They were kind, full of local information and facts and did just the right amount of talking... Nothing was a problem for Joe an my guide and Vuth my Driver. They even took me of the beaten track to villages so I could see real people... As a single female traveling alone I felt very safe and I would definitely use Indochina tours again!!! I truly cannot fault my experience.. It was awesome.

Indochinaodysseytours was a 5 star company that was able to provide us a memorable holiday in Vietnam, and credit must be given to Allison Chiang who arranged everything for us, answering all our questions promptly and efficiently.

Our trip started in Ho Chi Minh City where our guide Funny met us with a beaming smile and took us to the Sanouva Hotel which was a very clean and a pleasant hotel.

Day 2. Funny met us at the hotel and we went to the Cu Chi tunnels very interesting a must see trip then back to Ho Chi Min a guided tour of the city instructions of how to cross the busy very busy roads { Be Positive}.Funny left us with confidence of crossing the very busy roads and with a great smile.

Day 3.Was a trip to Cae Be part of The Mekong Delta to see the floating markets from there we went on a little boat being rowed by a charming local lady and a song sung by Funny we couldn't work out the lyrics but it was pleasant, unfortunately unknown to Funny we were about to disembark the little boat and ride the bicycles my wife cant ride a bike so Funny had to ride the bike with my wife sat on the rear carrier Funny was no longer singing however that smile was still there what a great day out.

Day 4.We had the day to ourselves in Hoi Chi Min before flying to Hue and saying goodbye to our excellent guide Funny. We flew to Hue and stayed at a lovely hotel called the Cherish hotel the staff were brilliant cant wait to go back.

Day 5.Today was very busy visiting the really impressive Royal tomb of King Ming Mang then sail the Perfume river to Thien Mu Pagoda then transfer to the Imperial Citadel and tour the Forbidden Purple City then visit the Dong Ba market what a busy day that was but impressive.

Day 6.We drove to Hoi An calling in to Danang's beautiful beach but spoilt by all the high rise buildings and more buildings being built. The journey to Hoi An was a great opportunity to see he natural beauty of Vietnam stopping at Hai Van pass would not recommend driving at night the roads are very narrow with sharp bends no lights.

We visited Marble Mountain and one of many marble shops I tried to chisel a piece of marble um leave it to the experts my wife suggested. We then proceeded to Hoi An and stayed at the Little Hoi An Boutique hotel and spa a very nice clean and tidy hotel would definitely stay there again. We had a couple of hours in a friendly local bar while watching the locals crossing of the streets and it is all about being confident as I keep telling the wife!

Day 7.Our hotel the Little Hoi An was in a lovely location close to the old town which has a abundance of restaurants cafes. The people in Hoi An were friendly and helpful. Today we went to My Son-Holy Land to see the remains of the Kingdom of Champa.

Our guide was very informative with its history and fortunately had the foresight to bring lots of water as there was no breeze the temperature was in the 30s and it was very humid we watched a small play with music by the locals which was very good.We then returned to Hoi An and had a guided tour of the old town.I would recommend Hoi An as a must.

Day 8. A day of rest on the beach which was about 4ks away, the hotel provided a courtesy bus and supplied beach towels the beach was stunning.

Day 9.Today was busy as we had a flight at 10.20 to Hanoi then tours we visited the Hilton {prison} Presidential Palace Ho Chi Mins house on stilts One pillar Pagoda then we had a 3 wheeled cycle tour of the old city before the fantastic water puppet show which we had tickets for the 4.00pm show our cyclist wasn't in a rush and we were quite confident he new we had to be back but somewhere he lost track of the time until his mobile went and then he found another gear and he was peddling like there was no tomorrow we made the puppet show but I think we missed out on what building was what on our final 10 minute cycle race. After the water puppet show our guide took us to The Elegant Ruby Hotel this hotel was very nice and in a great location the staff were brilliant we would definitely stay here again.

Day 10.Our Guide Mr Phang met us at the hotel and escorted us to Halong Bay for our boarding of the pontoon La Vela, the overnight cruise is a must as all the meals were fantastic the tour to the pearl farm was interesting and if your fit enough after the tour of caves you can walk up 600 steps to the highest point and have a fantastic view of Halong Bay.Our cabin was great and we slept through the very peaceful night.

Day 11.This morning we attempted a little Tai Chi before a brilliant breakfast and were then picked by Mr Phang for our 3.5 hr journey back to Hanoi giving us time to reflect our wonderful tour of Vietnam back at Hanoi we wandered the streets crossing were ever and whenever with confidence that no one will run us over. smiling faces greeting us back at the hotel time to pack.

Day 12.The Elegance Ruby were kind enough to allow us extra time in our room as our flight was not until the evening they let us use there lounge and restroom with a shower and were so good. All the staff were brilliant.

Allison Chiang was fantastic from the start to the end sending us an email ensuring everything was ok indochinaodyssey provided a brilliant holiday never to be forgot all the hotels were very good and the itinerary was as it was wanted.

Our Tour Guide Mr Thanh Thinh was amazing! my partner and i had a blast and only wish we could take Thanh back to Australia with us as we became fast friends. He went above and beyond in all areas and made us feel like family.

Hanoi itself is a crazy town full of unique shops, street, food and sights. you really need a few days here to experience. arrive here with a open heart and you will be welcomed. best to start here as it is cooler than the south and gets you acclimatised to the country.

Food is Amazing, our guide took us under his wing and dinned with us at all his favourite local spots. plenty of good eating, excellent conversation and great laughs with Thanh! We will be coming back!

our hotel was also beautiful, quaint and quiet with excellent customer service. Hanoi Boutique ruby hotel....smack bang in the old quarter of Hanoi

Water puppet show is also a must for your first night as a tourist.

Ensure you also stay here when the night market are on. didn't buy anything but just walked around and soaked up all the life and laughter all the locals have at this time

Well this year it was Myanmar and our third trip organised by Allison at IOT, having previously been to Cambodia and Vietnam. It is a wonderful country slowly adapting to mass tourism. My recommendation - visit sooner rather than later whilst relatively unspoilt.

A super trip starting in Yangon with the Schewedagon temple, colonial buildings and walks around the local markets. We then went on to Bagan with the many ancient temples and stupas. Best seen from a balloon ride at sunrise and the trip organised with Oriental Ballooning did not disappoint. T the end of the day there were super sunsets in the peace and quiet of the plains. Our final stop was Mandalay which included a lovely river trip and a visit to Mingun.

The accommodation was first class with a special mention to the Belmond Governor’s Residence at Yangon which was excellent. Aureum Palace at Bagan with a lakeside villa came a close second.

All our guides had excellent knowledge which they were keen to share and all spoke excellent english. It was nice to have a couple of lady guides for a change. The local drivers were excellent.

Food during the day was varied and dietary requirements easily accommodated.

We can not speak highly enough of Allison and her organisational skills and desire to help and adapt situations to meet our needs and make this another memorable holiday. Thank you and to all those behind the scene at IOT.

Would I recommend IOT to organise a holiday? Yes, yes, yes.
