When it comes to dates, it is difficult to mention that the weather condition is hard to forecast. In the local area, kites symbolize praying to the gods for good harvests and good weather. Flying kites is a way for local people to thank the gods for giving them a bumper harvest in a year. Therefore, you can always find some kites during your trip to Bali, flying in the sky or just hanging on the wall as decoration. But on the day of the Kite Festival, you will see thousands of kites with different styles and colors flying in the wind, which is quite spectacular in the crowded sky.
These kites are usually exaggeratedly large and full of artistic flavor. Some kites can be ten or twenty meters long when spread in the sky, like the giant whale that swims with the wind. Some are in long shapes like fishtails, and some are in the shape of other images like goldfish, octopuses, or dinosaurs. In fact, the Kite Festival is still a competition, and people can compete for various awards by flying kites. Then, as a traveler, you can feel the local enthusiasm for the Kite Festival. At the same time, you can sit by the sea and watch the kite in the sky, as if you have entered another magical world.

Nyepi Day (March 11, 2024) in Bali is a festival for local people to celebrate the New Year. Nyepi is based on the Sakaar calendar, which is a very special way of calculating the date and celebrating the Lunar New Year. This festival is usually around March.
Nyepi Day is the quietest day on the island. Since 6 o'clock in the morning, there is no activity or entertainment on the island. Not a single pedestrian is seen on the roads either. But before the festival, there is usually a carnival that lasts for three days. For example, the highlight ceremony, also known as the Melasti pilgrimage parade. This activity basically started three days before the Nyepi Festival. You can see pilgrims from temples in various villages in Bali walking towards the coastline with heirlooms for an elaborate purification ceremony. They will also make multi-layer artworks, which are all designed with bamboo frames with complex shapes.
