2014 Chiang Mai Flower Festival to be Held in February

Chiang Mai, known as the Rose of the North in Thailand, is going to host the 38th Flower Festival from 7 to 9 February 2014 when various beautiful and exotic flowers come in full bloom at the end of the cool season. The festival is so colorful that it's almost worth timing your Thailand trip around it.

The 38th Chiang Mai Flower Festival will take place in Suan Buak Hat in the Mueang district. At that time, the park will be turned into an open-air flower exhibition. Both domestic travelers and international travelers can marvel at the sea of flowers. In other places of the city, various kinds of blooming flowers will also be displayed, including the Damask Rose, which can only be found in Chiang Mai.

At its opening ceremony held on 8 February, a parade of elaborately decorated floral floats will take place from Nawarat Bridge and Suan Buak Hat. Other celebrations include plant and flower competitions, Miss Flower and Miss Flower Blooming Beauty Contest, agricultural exhibitions, plant and flower sales, mini garden landscaping, local product fairs, and mini-concerts.
