Danang Ranks First Among 10 Destinations on the Rise

Category: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam

The world's largest travel site TripAdvisor has revealed its 2014 Travelers' Choice Destinations on the Rise awards earlier this month. Danang in Vietnam ranks first among 10 Destinations on the Rise around the World.

While less well-known than Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Danang is growing in popularity with its Buddhist sanctuaries, pristine beaches and tasty cuisine. It is laid-back and friendly. TripAdvisor gave its comments of Danang as follows: "The port city of Da Nang is a beacon for foodies, who flock here to sample the famously fresh and bold flavors of Central Vietnamese cuisine." It also recommends travelers to "Taste your way through the streets on a walking or biking culinary tour. Work off those bowls of spicy noodle soup with an exploration of the caves and grottos of the Marble Mountains. Be sure to time your nighttime stroll so you pass the Dragon Bridge when its 'head' breathes fire over the River Han."

The Top 10 Travelers' Choice Destinations on the Rise around the world are Danang (Vietnam), Sihanoukville, (Cambodia), Limassol (Cyprus), Ao Nang (Thailand), Bodrum City, (Turkey), Naha (Japan), Hurghada (Egypt), Kazan (Russia), Manaus (Brazil), and Eilat (Israel). Three of them are located in Southeast Asia, which indicates that Southeast Asia is firmly on the tourist map for 2015 and the lesser-known destinations are now rising up to rival the more popular spots.

According to Tripadvisor, the Travelers' Choice awards are based on an algorithm that ranks the year-over-year increase in positive feedback and interest from the TripAdvisor community.

Danang may soon be the top destination for a holiday in 2015. Our advice: visit it before everyone else does.
