How to Have Fun with Kids in Thailand

Thailand’s sun-kissing beaches, romantic islands, delicious foods can keep a family occupied for weeks! And that’s just parts of reason why Lonely Planet put it on the list of Best Family Travel Destinations for 2014. The friendly people that love to go gaga with kids,and the long list of activities that cater to family trips are perhaps what really make it an ideal destination for family. Here are the top things to do with your little ones when in Thailand. Many are worth checking out even if you don’t have a child.

Cooking Class

Kids love to do things by themselves and they certainly will love to have a cooking lesson that’s popular in Chiang Mai. They will enjoy picking the food materials at the local market, making authentic Thai cuisine with a selected chef and eating their own food just like you.

Night Bazaar

Kids will enjoy shop for cute things and sipping on yummy tropical fruits and Thai food on the night bazaar of Chiang Mai. It has almost everything sold at cheap prices. If you give child $10, it’s very likely that he/she buy 10 things with that money. There are also lots of food stalls with ice cream, desserts, and snacks to try.

Tuk-tuk ride

Every kid who comes to Bangkok would ask for tuk-tuk (three-wheeled vehicle) ride – it’s a popular and funny way to see the city. It’s most of an experience than simply a practical way to get around Bangkok.

Visit a temple or a palace

Bangkok has some of the most beautiful temples and palaces that worth taking your kids there. The most famous site is the Grand Palace with the Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of Emerald Buddha) in it. It could be an eye-opening experience as they they’ll marvel at the splendor, the history, and the interesting details.

Sometimes kids need to slow down the pace and get to know the rural life of Thailand. A boat trip on Chao Phraya River could be a good choice, which offers a great chance to see the rural scenery and life of Thailand.
