Hotel Rooms in Myanmar to be More Than Doubled in Coming Years
Myanmar, together with many other countries in Asia, will have a significant increase in hotel rooms to accommodate the growing number of visitors, according to the latest report from STR Global, an institution doing research related to the tourism and hotel industry and also offering relevant standard reports.
With an increase of 67.5%, a total of 4,109 new hotel rooms in Myanmar will be opened to visitors in the coming years, bringing Myanmar among the seven countries to experience the most rapid growth of hotel rooms. Other countries among the seven countries are Bangladesh (+261.1%, 4,170), Mongolia (+77.4% with 975 rooms), Sri Lanka (+51.0%, 5,204), Bhutan (+46.7%, 78), Indonesia (+35.7%, 53,100) and Philippines (+30.7%, 13,078).
