A sports event called Saigon Cyclo Challenge is going to be held in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City on March 9, right on this Sunday. Sponsored teams of cyclo riders compete for the prize of fastest cyclo team. The cyclo is a three-wheeled bicycle. A front seat is supported by the two wheels for carrying goods or passenger, with the driver sitting behind. Racing the cyclo is by no means easy - they are often quite awkward to monitor and easy to tip over. This is a part of the reason why racing is so exciting.
Besides the racing, there are other festivities like the Cyclo Decoration Challenge and cheerleading competition. Big crowds gather there to watch the creatively decorated cyclos and cheer for their favorite teams. The atmosphere is really exciting. There are also booths offering free drinks and food for the audience!
Best of all, the event, held annually for the past 13 years, is run by Saigon Children's Charity to raise funds for disadvantaged children. So come for a great show that benefits a great cause!
Time: from 08:00 am to 12:30 pm, Sunday, March 9th, 2014
Venue: The Crescent, Phu My Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides watching the Sagon Cyclo Challenge, tourists to Vietnam are recommended to take a cyclo trip. In Hanoi, there is no better way to explore the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake than by cyclo.
