About This Trip

This trip will take you to two of the most charming cities in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Chiang Mai is well-known for its magnificent ancient temples and breathtaking scenery. You will have the opportunity to visit the well-known Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep and enjoy a panoramic view of Chiang Mai. The highlight of the tour will be a day trip to the Baan Chang Elephant Park, where you can get up close and personal with the elephants, prepare food for them, and bathe them. Chiang Rai is a great place from which to explore the surrounding hill tribes and the Golden Triangle, the intersection of the borders of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.

Itinerary

Day 1: International Arrival, Chiang Mai
Welcome to Chiang Mai! Upon arrival, meet your local guide and then be transferred to your hotel. After a short rest, experience Meo Hill Tribe Village culture in a hillside spot. Continue to visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, which is one of the most sacred temples in Chiang Mai. Later, return to the hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai
After breakfast, head out to Chiang Rai. En route, you will see a hot spring and stop here for relaxation. Continue to the Golden Triangle in Chiang Sean, where the three borders of Myanmar-Laos-Thailand meet. Lunch finished and be transferred to Mae Sai Border. Last, visit villages dwelling the indigenous Akha and Yao hill tribes on your way back to Chiang Mai.

Day 3: Chiang Mai Elephant Tour
This morning, visit Baan Chang Elephant Park to enjoy an Elephant's Day Care activity. Leaving the hotel at around 8:30 to 9:00 by shuttle bus you will reach the park in around 50 minutes. In this ethical and sustainable park, you will learn about the elephants and can touch, bathe and play with them as well as preparing their lunch after enjoying your own. Before returning to Chang Mai you will meet some baby elephants in their own nursery area.

You will have free time until your guide escorts you to the airport for the flight to your next destination.
