Cham Museum
Museum is always a good site to learn the culture and history of the place you are visiting. If you are driving through Danang, it’s suggested to take an easy tour of the Cham Museum, established in 1915 according to the motifs of ancient Cham Architecture.
Sitting right in the center of town, the museum looks much larger from the inside than it seems on the outside. It houses 297 stone and terracotta Champa sculptural works made between the 7th and the 15th centuries, which were formerly scattered across central Vietnam and ranked the most extensive and diverse collection of Cham art in the world.
Besides showrooms displaying masterpieces of Champa art, the exterior exhibitions offer another perspective. The temples and towers are considered to be sculptural artifacts. Intricate flowers and leaves decorate the brick walls in a beautiful fashion, and figures of gods and animals are carved on sandstones for worship. Spend an hour here you’ll find that it's well worth the effort. Though art works showcased are not well-captioned in English, our guide will have you covered.
Non Nuoc Beach and Danang Cathedral are only a few distances away, so consider a visit to them. If you can't get enough of Vietnam by only a slice of it, a 15-Day In-Depth Vietnam Tour with Sapa may speak more.
